xmlrpc implementations capable of digest authentication?

Hi
I'm new to xmlrpc. Trying to connect to a wiki site using this API, and it
looks like the only xmlrpc implementation currently supporting digest
authentication is php... Whereas I'm trying to write a perl app. Digest
seems also to be missing from c/c++ as well as from python.
Is this really the case? Which other implementations suport digest auth?
Is it possible to manually construct the digest fingerprint using the
standard language md5 library? It should be possible in principle, but
does one get to the nonce from the application level?
Thanks
Guennadi
