Someone may have other ideas, but I suspect that, since you POST to a
browser form, your XML is form-urlencoded (as per
http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/forms.html#h-17.13.4.1 ) causing
it not to be well-formed XML at all.

You can double check whether this is what happens by dumping (beware
of escaping there too!) what your XML-RPC server actually receives.
