I have encountered this problem also. After extensive testing it appears to be a bug in iOS 8 itself. Believe it has something to do with Apples weird 1x 2x 3x image hack for mobile. No problem on any other OS, even OSX displays properly. Hopefully, it will be resolved in the future. My problem can be seen using iPhones and iPads at: http://svgdesign.guru James
