I would like to write something resembling a summary of my understanding of=
 what people have said there, to see if it is accurate, but it looks like S=
VG 2.0 will likely not have SMIL removed, but just that at least some peopl=
e working on Chrome refuse to fix bugs in either the browser or the spec, o=
r to advance SVG animation, hoping, apparently, that SMIL as we know it wil=
l die unceremoniously in a field reserved for XML, Xpath, Xlink and other W=
3C standards. Once upon a time someone told me how one goes about filing a =
formal objection, but I figure if it is merely that Google has decided not =
to be standards-compliant that is their loss. On the other hand, if folks s=
tart trying to change standards because they don=E2=80=99t like implementin=
g them, that is a different matter and seems befitting of major fuss. I=E2=
=80=99m sorry, I meant to say Major Fuss! I have to read up on Sherman (and=
 other) anti-trust anyhow;)=20

OK, how can you find out? Is there a dependable CSS spokesperson who can ev=
entually confirm that this would only affect CSS? I would like to know this=
 before making other comments/take action.
