This year's conference is in Pittsburgh PA, September 23-26 and the call for
papers is open

The annual conference (since 2002) was previously known as SVG Open.
If you are not familiar with it, please see this little fact sheet:

The theme this year is "Motion, Meaning, Stories, Standards
Pictures for everyone." It rather sounds like it would be just the place for
all of you. The conference has had quite an illustrious past, introducing,
for the first time, several speakers who later went on to fame and glory!
We've also had quite a good sampling of influential folks who brought with
them reputations already well-established. And then there are the majority
of people who just do things using web graphics standards who do it out of
passion and curiosity!
It's a friendly conference where standards and practices converge. Once
again, we have the support of the W3C and Google and, hopefully, many more
organizations!
