If you have a .NET code base, then you cannot use Java.

You mean RTF, WordML, .docx or .odt. Our product, XMLmind XSL-FO 
Converter, *cannot* generate PDF.

Some of our tools indeed generate PDF but we use the services of Apache 
FOP (free; open source; Java only, not .NET) for that. See 
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/
