No offense intended, but your idea would not be usable by the vast 
majority of our customers (which are completely focused on XSL).

The "Generate named styles" feature is currently not supported. As it is 
not part of the XSL-FO standard, we have to found a simple, elegant and 
reliable extension to support this very useful feature in our product. 
Unfortunately, for now, we have no idea of what could be such XSL-FO 
extension.
