Yes, there is an easy workaround for the case that I sent you. However, I kept the case deliberately simple in order to demonstrate the problem. Consider the slightly more complex sample that is attached. If there is more than one block in a table cell, I cannot simply move the border definition from the block to the table cell. There might also be different borders on the table cell and some of the blocks. There might be margins/paddings between the blocks and the cell.

Most likely I will also find a workaround for this case. I am experimenting with nested blocks right now. This gets a bit tiresome, as I have to distinguish lots of different cases and try to find a working solution for each of them, where a simple border definition on the block should just work.

I understand that you cannot solve this problem right away. I just wanted to point out that a workaround for the problem is not so easily available as it seemed at first, hoping that this issue might be addressed in one of the next releases.

Thank you for your excellent bug report which makes the issue crystal-clear.

I'm really sorry but we currently do not see how we could solve this problem.

You have found the workaround (at least for some cases) by yourself: add the border around the table-cell and not around the top-level block which is the content of the table-cell.
