Well, the sample files you sent me are fine and it worked OK with both 
*stock* XMLmind XSL Utility v5.2 and v4.6 (yes, I checked that too).

Please carefully read what follows because you probably missed something 
the first time you tried to apply your DITAVAL file.



--> Here what I did to apply "PPA_PPM.ditaval" to 
"Test_Installation_Guide.ditamap":

1) Started XMLmind XSL Utility.

2) Selected "Test_Installation_Guide.ditamap".

3) Used the "Conversion specification" combobox to select "ditaToPDF" 
because I want to generate PDF.

4) Clicked "Edit" and selected the "DITA" tab.

5) Used the "Browse files" button to select  "PPA_PPM.ditaval" into text 
field "Condition processing profile".

6) Clicked OK to close the "Edit" dialog box.

7) Clicked "Convert" to generated attached 
"Test_Installation_Guide.pdf". Notice that, due to "PPA_PPM.ditaval", 
the FAQs chapter is missing from this PDF.



--> In order to get the same results when generating DOCX, I had to 
repeat steps 3) to 7), but this time with the dbToDOCX conversion 
specification:

3) Used the "Conversion specification" combobox to select "ditaToDOCX" 
because I want to generate DOCX.
