Does XMLMind support Word 2010? Sure. XMLMind XSL-FO converter output is tested against all versions of MS-Word starting from MS-Word 2003 and up to MS-Word 2013. This "compatibility mode" string is a MS-Word feature and as such, is not documented in the DOCX specifications. We have tried to determine what could cause this "compatibility mode" string to be displayed by MS-Word 2010 and have found just one good reason: different XML namespaces used in the DOCX created by MS-Word 2010+ compared to those created by MS-Word 2007. We are not 100% sure that just using the new namespaces would allow us to get rid of the "compatibility mode" string. We are 100% sure that using the new namespaces would cause MS-Word 2007 (or MS-Word 2003 + compatibility pack) to refuse to open the DOCX file. In a nutshell, For now, XMLmind XSL-FO converter generates *100% correct* DOCX files compatible with as much versions of MS-Word as possible, even if this causes MS-Word 2010+ to display "(compatibility mode)" in its title bar. I'm sorry but we do not plan to add a "Generate MS-Word 2010+ DOCX" option in the near future. -- XMLmind FO Converter Support List [email protected] http://www.xmlmind.com/mailman/listinfo/xfc-support
