Comment: 

jars (for 1.1 in ) are found in 
 - xindice/lib -- some here yes, but also ...
 - xindice/lib/endorsed -- xalan, xerces, xml-apis
 - xindice/  -- xindice

Seems like a left-over from 1.0 documentation ;-)
