This seems to do what you're asking.

Assuming an XSD:

<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
       <xs:element name="ATTRTEST">
              <xs:complexType>
                     <xs:sequence>
                           <xs:element name="TESTELEM">
                                  <xs:complexType>
                                         <xs:attribute name="DEFATTR" type="xs:string"/>
                                  </xs:complexType>
                           </xs:element>
                     </xs:sequence>
              </xs:complexType>
       </xs:element>
</xs:schema>
And XML:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ATTRTEST xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="../xsd/AttrTest.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       <TESTELEM DEFATTR="defined" BOGUSATTR="bogus"/>
</ATTRTEST>

I have a simple question.

I have a xsd standard (string..no complextype).

I receive xml message that can contains extra attributes that are not in the xsd.

With JAXB they are put into

    /**

     * the map is keyed by the name of the attribute and
     * the value is the string value of the attribute.
     *
     * the map returned by this method is live, and you can add new attribute
     * by updating the map directly. Because of this design, there's no setter.

     */
    public Map<QName, String> getOtherAttributes() {
        return otherAttributes;
    }

but is it possible to do something similar with xmlbeans ?

It a showstopper if I can't do that.
