this is XPP2 (PullParser2) and this is previous version that *does not*
implement XmlPull API (so it is better post this to xgws-user mailing list
see: http://www.extreme.indiana.edu/xgws/#mail)

please try instead XPP3 (currently xpp3_1_1_2).

this definitely looks like a bug in XPP2. i think it was one of things 
to fix
in XPP2 - look for TODO in Tokenizer.readName() - that was never fixed
as XPP3 deprecated XPP3 so please try first XPP3 as it should work OK

if you still have this problem please send me a sample XML document
that is UTF8 encoded and that i can use for testing.

if you have to use XPP2 i can also look on fixing it but i need
the sample XML as well.
