The Beta 1 release of the JiBX XML data binding framework is now out. See http://www.jibx.org for details. I'd appreciate it if you'd consider linking this from the XMLPull site, since I think JiBX is one of the more prominent XMLPull applications. I've also got a new article up on IBM developerWorks discussing the choices and tradeoffs I made in the JiBX architecture. This includes a section on how a pull parser is much better for data binding than a push parser.
