I'll throw a +1 at the idea.  If there are no downsides and you're willing
to code it why not?  More coding options are always helpful.  If I recall
correctly, most of the new Java 1.4 stuff has been written to be chainable
(java.nio.*).

PS - Hi, thought I'd say howdy and say that I just started using XPP and
have loved the speed (I'm coming from Xerces).  Reminds me of using James
Clark's XP.  I'm integrating XPP into some code I'm writing and have had
nothing but praise for it.  Thanks!
