There is an old ITP that became an RFP:

To what extent have things changed since the message by Bart Schuller?
I'm assuming the pdflib issue is gone but the "half done fork of pango"
is still an issue.

I maintain one other Debian package so could try to produce one for
xmlroff if nobody else is planning to do it.
