tokenize() not supported

I am having trouble using the tokenize function:
- Neither Mozilla, IE, XMLSpy, or Java servlets seem to support the 
EXSLT function by default
- I would very much like to use this function without having to make a 
parser-specific solution

Does anyone have examples of how to get this function to work with any 
of these viewers / parsers? Preferably in a way which will work with 
other parsers as well.
