yes I understand that from Microsoft's position they may use the
software...though I still dont understand how this works in conjunction
with the BSD license, for general users, esp in light that I cant find
the appropriate license.txt files in the source code....though this is
probably because I havent searched hard enough.

yes, point taken, and no point intended to be given.... to be honest I
prob ignored this option because of the past 6 days spent trying to
recover an office windows XP desktop which thrashed itself senseless (i
estimate about 50-75 restarts in one nite) due to damaged PSU....ubuntu
installed, old NTFS volume fixed and mounted, Open Office replacement
working fine, life easier.

Thats not to say I am not interested, I think C# and XLINQ are esp
interesting....though I am dog sick of trends in computing and last year
I decided that for the rest of my career, I will stick with perl as much
as humanly possible, keep current in Java/J2EE esp where it is
commercially required of me, and continue to code serious projects and
learn the deep inner workings of my favourite LISP (though PROLOG with
perl is quite exciting)variant.
