Cool, yes -- if one can live with the limited precision. When offered on a piece by piece basis such algorithms and implementations are just a little bit more than curiosity. What I really wanted to emphasize was that FXSL provides *complete set of functions* -- be it trigonometric, hyperbolic-trigonometric, exponental, logarithmic, ... etc, and their reverse functions. Add to this the findRoot template, which implements Newton/Raphson and binary-search algorithms for finding the root of any 1-argument fuction over R -- and you have a most powerful toolset implemented in XSLT and ready to use since 2002. Do note, that one can specify the desired precision as a parameter to any of these functions.
