Why are a number of functions still in the non-core state? good question ... we never formally defined this, but informally those functions that are in core were considered 'well defined' and most likely to be implemented by XSLT processor implementators. I think node-set is a good example of 'core' whilst there are a few other functions that are admittedly a little under specified. hth, Jim Fuller
