  Do you need specific places, e.g., Paris, or are you looking for
  general geopolitical boundaries, e.g., City, Island, etc.?

  We pull GeoNames  (http://www.geonames.org/) into http://subj3ct.com.
  These can then be accessed as XTM and contain geo coordinates as well
  as the names of the places.
