+1! on not introducing unique or different terminology.

What "graphical visualizations" has to do with with this question?

That is I am missing the connection between graphic representations and 
a query language.

I can query all manner of things in a relational query language without 
reference to its ultimate representation. Could be a table, could be a 
string, could be a graphic representation.

But none of those has any impact on the query language or its operators. 
Unless you are planning on embedding graphic operations in the query 
language, which I don't think would be a good idea.

So, what is the connection between any graphic representation and TMQL?
