Dear Lars,

I wonder why this "minor issue" as you call it upsets you so much in
2011 but it did never upset you in the last years. The axis names are
plural since at least N826 [1] and you never complained about that.

Why do you want somebody else to explain your (IMHO strange) ideas to
you? Writing "How does" you assume this is the case, but it is not.
Your first example query would return all occurrences of type homepage
while the latter would return nothing.

The following queries each return _all_ occurrences of type homepage:

    topic / homepage
    topic / occurrences(homepage)

The extension which Xuân brought into discussion but which was not
discussed by the editors was if

    topic / occurrence(homepage)

should be a shortcut for

   topic / occurrences(homepage)[0]
