Thinking more about it, I'd keep the explicit reifier axis (in
addition to my proposed short-cut). The explicit reifier axis can be
used within a modification language to modify the reifier explicitly
(necessary if the user has to decide if the reifying topic should be
updated (i.e. adding/removing an item identifier) or the reified
construct).

@Rani, Benjamin: Any thoughts on this proposal?
