I've always used .yaml in files and in code I write. I'm a UNIX
person, by experience, and don't have any fondness for 3-character
file extensions.
I suspect both are used in the world, and I'd be happy if we continued
to document the .yml case as "incorrect". Won't keep it from being
used, but.
