how to install a module from CPAN to Perl

Hello! I have a problem installing modules in Perl and I need help. First I downloaded and installed Perl on my computer and then I wanted to download some modules from http://www.cpan.org but I encountered a problem installing a module because as soon as I wrote in the dos prompt “perl Makefile.pl” I got a message error that yaml was not installed. But I do not know how to install yaml. Can you help me how to do it, please?
