Greetings,

A few things have happened in YAML2 today.

I had a nice chat with Clark, and we decided it was best to do the YAML2
effort under the name "YAML" as much as possible.

For now the "yaml2" github organization (https://github.com/yaml2) has been
deprecated and all assets moved to the the "yaml" organization (
https://github.com/yaml). The YAML2 repository and wiki lives on, but it is
under the "yaml" organization (https://github.com/yaml/YAML2/wiki).

All the 128 forked repos have been moved under https://github.com/yaml/.
Sorry for the turbulence.

It is nice to have everything under the yaml organization. This means that
we can give a commit bit to all the YAML projects (usually forks) at once.
Kirill's svn repos at http://svn.pyyaml.org/ have been run through svn2git
to create mirrors that are hosted under https://github.com/yaml/.

Another huge event that happened today is that we now have a linode shared
host for all of yaml.org. It has many admins so hopefully will be up to
date. As I set it up, all site content will be repos from github. This
means any yaml organization member can update any of the site content. A
cron job will keep the site up to date with the repos. Think of it as a big
wiki.

yaml2.org currently points at the new host, but as soon as the basics are
moved over, yaml.org will point there as well, and this will be the real
deal.

The #yaml2 irc channel will be abandoned until such time as we need it.
Join #yaml on irc.freenode.net.

"YAML2" is still the code name for taking YAML to the next generation on
many levels, but we will only use the term YAML2 when we really need to
disambiguate.

I started a proposal to eliminate the folded scalar syntax from YAML 2.0.

Lastly, hats off to ixti for completing a node.js port of the pyyaml load
stack. Yay!
