The future of libyaml is not grim. It's just very good code with very few
bugs. :)

That said, the author, while still part of the YAML community, is active on
other things. I've agreed to be a PM as it were.

Please file issues against: https://github.com/yaml/libyaml and we'll try
to take care for you.

There is a branch for 1.2 dev in that repo. I'd be happy to work with you.

You might consider finding us on #yaml irc.freenode.net.
