I see that I forgot to include an important point: Given that a complete tag resolution mechanism (specification + reference implementation) exists, the schema itself can be much simpler, since some structural information would be given by the presence of a tag. In the YES example, Charlie Adams and Julie Ann Rose could be tagged as <person>, and the schema would be reduced to an expression that said: <person> nodes only. I am aware that this might mess up things, but I think there is a need for a tag resolution language to enable proper construction, regardless of the use of schema.
