Line folding in block scalars

Hi folks,

I have two question regarding block scalars:

  1. In Example 8.12 [1], there is a folded block scalar which starts
with an empty line. It hence contains one newline character. Since it is
a folded scalar, wouldn't the newline character be subject to line
folding (so that it is interpreted as a space instead)? Perhaps I
overlook the part of the spec where it says that leading empty lines are
not subject to line folding, but I searched for it and didn't find
anything.

  2. In Example 8.2 [2], the last block scalar is a folded scalar which
contains a line that only contains a tabular character, and a second
line which contains "detected". The example interprets that as "\t
detected", but isn't the single tabular a more-indented line? In 6.5,
the spec defines:

> Note that such a more-indented line may consist only of such leading
> white space.

Since newlines around more-indented lines are not folded, shouldn't
the correct interpretation be "\t\ndetected"?

Cheers,
Felix
