Python is strongly checked language.. 

Perhaps you are referring to implicit vs explicit type information etc ?
(Usually explicit type information serves as useful documentation and
all)

And now perhaps you are referring to static vs dynamic checking ?

The python/perl folks were perhaps referring to stages when they were
prototyping a concept/idea and they need to do it fast..

Grr... just wanted to know how you define "untyped" etc... this area
is so full of ambiguous / conflicting definitions that it is better to
set the assumptions straight before jumping into arguments based on 
them.
