People who attended the devmeet on 23-05-2004 are:

Abhijit Menon Sen	ams
Nirendra Awasthi nirendra
Sirtaj Singh Kang	sirtaj
T.Meyarivan mary
Vivek Khurana chipset
Bhaskar Dutta bhaskie
Manpreet Singh msn
Pramod pamri
-

Most of the fellas met up at around 12:30 PM and were busy
having lunch, trying to get X working on a compaq laptop,
listening to "music" on msn's comp etc.

The meet started at 2:00 PM and we started with nirendra's
talk on "localization and HTTP based services".

Nirendra talked about various ways in which content delivered
via HTTP can be "localized". It was more of a introductory
talk - some of the current provisions from the respective
RFC (2616) were highlighted. Few examples highlighting the
use of specific client/server side tags to indicate that
the content be "localized" were demostrated.

Sirtaj started with a basic introduction to Python, QT and
PyQT. The advantages of programming in PyQT/Python followed
with lots of examples on usage of PyQT for simple interfaces.
He followed with a small introduction to the concept of
signals-slots in QT and all. He followed on with PyQT being
a "thick" wrapper (or layer between Python and QT) - which
was made clear by a question from ams about "callbacks/slots" which
are known only to PyQT (i.e. not to the underlying QT C++ library).

The ensuing discussion started off with a discussion on what kind
of topics the attendees would be interested in - as far as the next
devmeet is concerned..

and lots of other discussion...

I request others who attended the meet to fill in the gaps,
correct etc (intentionally some gaps were left, however all
errors are unintentional).
(some of the gaps are -> topic of next month and ams/sirtaj's
input on the same, etc)

In short, bug me.
