Help in Joomla website development

Hi, I am learning Joomla nowadays and building a simple website. Here is how i started : 1 - Created HTML 2 - Started converting it into Joomla template. 3 - Developed modules and positioned them in template. As per the tutorials i have created a template for my home page and its working well but i am confused now that how can i use or extend it for inside pages. I have read that we can use multiple templates in one website but then i don't wanna repeat my css and js and common html code. I have only found tutorials on how to create a one page Joomla template but i am stuck as i dont wanna repeat. I need suggestions on this like how can do it with one template only.
