When you are aware that things are bad, you take extra measures to keep
yourself away from harms way, is it not? Interestingly given a perception
that you are safe, you tend to go into your comfort zone. I think that is
where bit coin has gone wrong. Since we see crypto attached to it, and
strong identity association is not required, we tend to think that bit coin
is beyond govt. control. When in fact bit coin is public ledger of
transaction ever done. All govt. has to do is run a bitcoin client and pull
data into a graph database to track transaction. Additionally Indian govt.
agencies have easy access to IP to user database. To summarize, your
perception of safety is false.

Mainstream media does not even cover it properly. People who read
mainstream media don't even use it. Its a niche.
