Hey thats a good point raised by Kalyan ...
Well, thats open for debate.

Let me put in my views ...
I consider Open source the best for educational
purposes coz alls available..

But for a very critical application where a small
fault may cause damage of property ... can we trust
Open source?? .. In such a case who will take the
responsibility to fix the bugs.

As against this, the customised proprietry softwares
where the owner is responsible, there is lot more
safety.

Also thats the reason the industry today goes for 
NON-OPEN softwares.
