Hi Guys, thanks for the response so far: My gut tells me bad ziggo router/modem (I have far too many other woes too, eg a site is available on one laptop, but not another - in windows, hence I'm not so concerned.) Can you SSH into anywhere from your home connection? Cannot SSH into second of my servers Also, maybe try reducing the TCP Maximum Segment Size - it could be some weird fragmentation issue, and your router isn't passing the ICMP Fragmentation Needed packet back to your host. Ok so first action point: I assume this is done in the router webgui. (This feels like something close. Using filezilla if I upload a file, it uploads to 0 bytes. In Php storm(Ubuntu &ssh) I get a similar message with "cannot close output stream for file..." ) [image: Inline image 1] I have no issues uploading files in work. Are you connecting by ip or name, ipv4 or ipv6? Apparently ip6 (and ipv4 is shared- I think) [image: Inline image 1] > Run ssh -vvv when connecting should give a wealth of information. > > ssh -vvv [email protected] OpenSSH_6.7p1 Ubuntu-5ubuntu1.3, OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: /etc/ssh/ssh_config line 19: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to 46.19.37.66 [46.19.37.66] port 22. ... debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: none,[email protected] debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: none,[email protected] debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: first_kex_follows 0 debug2: kex_parse_kexinit: reserved 0 debug2: mac_setup: setup [email protected] debug1: kex: server->client aes128-ctr [email protected] none debug2: mac_setup: setup [email protected] debug1: kex: client->server aes128-ctr [email protected] none debug1: sending SSH2_MSG_KEX_ECDH_INIT debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_KEX_ECDH_REPLY Connection closed by 46.19.37.66 -- Irish Linux Users Group --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ILUG" group.
