Thank you for the responses. I really posted to see how 'alive' this LUG
was. Using my somewhat frustrating financial/employment situation as in
'in'. My question is, obviously, still uppermost... To whit: I have 20
plus years self-employed IT Support, with no qualifications to speak of.
Excellent reviews, but no real evidence. I need a 'foot in the door'
within the IT industry. Sys Admin may be a tad high for me, though
Assistant Sys Admin, until I find my feet, would suit. I am mostly
self-taught, experimenting and troubleshooting with OSX, Windows and, most
importantly to me, various Linux Distros, specifically Debian-based. I am
also very good at 'translating' techspeak to 'userspeak' and have proven
myself to be a more than competent teacher/trainer.

I have checked out the 'big' jobsites, agencies and 'signed up' with the
biggies, such as Apple, Blizzard and EMC (I have a friend working at the
latter).

So, there you have it, in a nutshell.

STILL trying...
