That could be a very big part of it. While there are (or were last time I checked), some jobs in other major cities, the vast majority of them are in Dublin. If moving there is a possibility I'd strongly consider it.

I haven't checked if you have a linkedin profile, but I'd recommend having one, and having it mirror your CV; a tool to market yourself to potential employers.

Also, it is a very strong possibility that their trainers don't know how to write good CV's. A lot of early advice I got from career guidance amateurs (calling themselves professionals), was complete rubbish. I'd ignore the pedigree of your CV, ask the hiring manager what he didn't like, and make your own decision. I'd also bite the hand off anyone here offering to review it.

I assume you are in Dublin, which is home to hundreds if not thousands of companies and with your skills and interest in a Sys Admin or Junior Sys Admin role, I wouldn't necessarily be focussing on technology companies. Many if not most companies over a cetain size have their own dedicated IT Staff. My girlfriend is a Sys Admin in an Insurance provider, for example.
