Ger are you perhaps mixing up the pxeboot options with the kickctsrt file ? My pixeboot file looks like this (just the lines the refer to the kickstart install of centos with update ) LABEL centos64-ks KERNEL vmlinuz-c65x64 APPEND initrd=initrd-c65x64.img ks=ftp://192.168.0.1/kickstart/ centos6-minimal-x86_64.cfg the ks= line tells it where to find the kickstart file My kickstart file looks like this cat /var/ftp/kickstart/centos6-minimal-x86_64.cfg #version=RHEL6 install url --url=ftp://192.168.0.1//centos65/x86_64 # system language lang en_US.UTF-8 #keyboard keyboard uk network --device eth0 --bootproto dhcp rootpw --iscrypted <encrypted password goes here> firewall --service=ssh authconfig --enableshadow --passalgo=sha512 --enablefingerprint selinux --enforcing timezone --utc Europe/Dublin bootloader --location=mbr --driveorder=sda --append="crashkernel=auto rhgb quiet" repo --name="CentOS" --baseurl=ftp://192.168.0.1//centos65/x86_64/ -- cost=100 # slipstream in updates repo --name="centos_updates" --baseurl=ftp://192.168.0.1/centos/6.5/up dates/x86_64/ --cost=1000 #reboot after install reboot %packages --ignoremissing @base @console-internet @core @network-tools @system-management-snmp @server-policy @system-admin-tools sgpio ncurses-term screen -rfkill -pcmciautils -system-config-firewall-tui -b43-fwcutter %end %post # Adding ssh key # You could add your ssh key here echo "Adding ssh key" mkdir -p /root/.ssh chmod 700 /root/.ssh echo '<My Public SSH key goes here>' > /root/.ssh/authorized_keys chmod 600 /root/.ssh/authorized_keysa # fix up selinux context for .ssh restorecon -r /root/.ssh/ Hope this helps regards Brendan On Mon, 2016-04-04 at 09:16 +0100, Gerard Hooton wrote: > Thanks Brendan > In my kickstart cfg I have :- > > nfs --server=<server ip address> --dir=/export/opt/Centos67/x86_64 > > //Ger > > On 02/04/16 14:08, Brendan Minish wrote: > > > > I know it's not the question you asked but.. > > > > Why not include the updates in the kickstart process? > > > > In my case I locally mirror updates but assuming you have adequate > > bandwidth fetching them from the internet should work just as well, > > just adding one line to the kick-start file takes care of this > > E.G > > > > # slipstream in updates > > repo --name="centos_updates" --baseurl=<url goes here> --cost=1000 > > > > Basically what then happens is that at install time updated > > packages > > are installed instead of base image packages where available > > > > regards > > Brendan > > > > > > On Sat, 2016-04-02 at 11:57 +0100, Gerard Hooton wrote: > > > > > > Hi all, > > > Firstly, I work mostly with Debian so my Redhat/Centos knowledge > > > in > > > lacking. > > > I use kicksttart to install the machines in our EDA lab. > > > The first thing I do after the kickstart install is complete is > > > run > > > yum upgrade. > > > That works fine except the while the yum upgrade is running > > > another > > > update manager starts automatically which produces a pop-up. > > > My question is, how can I disable this update manager? > > > I have CentOS 6.7 > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > Gerard Hooton. > > > Senior Technical Officer > > > School of Engineering. > > > University College Cork. > > > College Road. > > > Cork. > > > Ireland. > > > > > > Tel: +353 21 4902296 > > > Mobile: 085 281 3491 > > > -- > > > Irish Linux Users Group > > > --- > > > You received this message because you are subscribed to the > > > Google > > > Groups "ILUG" group. > > > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, > > > send an email to [email protected]. > > > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > > > Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/a/linux.ie/group/il > > > ug/. > > > To view this discussion on the web, visit https://groups.google.c > > > om/a > > > /linux.ie/d/msgid/ilug/66bfa7c06681af22216de9be9adaaf88.squirrel% > > > 40ww > > > w.ue.ucc.ie. > -- > Gerard Hooton. > Senior Technical Officer > School of Engineering. > University College Cork. > College Road. > Cork. > Ireland. > Tel: +353 21 4902296 > Mobile: +353 852813491 > -- Irish Linux Users Group --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ILUG" group.
