Thanks Rodrigo for your reply.

In order to help me better see the error message on the monitor at boot 
time I put a sleep 5 in the rc.local file

I put one before and one after my auto mounted script.

Now it works fine.

Maybe  I have to wait for some NFS / network setup to complete before 
the remote share can be autofs mounted ?
