1. I can tell you what good posting netiquette to this mailing list is

2. There is no such thing as a good linux distribution. There is such
a thing as a good linux distribution *for one*. We cannot make
recommendations for you without knowing exactly what your tastes and
needs are. Neither do not know if you snore in bed nor do we know
which way you dress. It would be presumptuous of us to say
distribution X will suit you like a t.

I would suggest that you look at Debian. Their major releases happen
only once in 2-3 *years*. :-)
