[LIG] Rare files

Hi,

One of my friend server's / folder contains following
files. I believe he is using Redhat Enterprise.

core.1415 

to 

core.1419

(Owner and group : root, same date creation)

Please could you let me know whether this file is
related with any application.

I tried a search a google, no solution yet.
