[LIG] Screen Blank during Ubuntu Installation

Hi all !
During installation (text mode) Ubuntu 6.06 ( Drapper Drake) on a
friend's laptop (Acer Travelmate) the screen went blank suddenly after
about 38% was completed during the file installation process. 

The graphical mode installation completed with no hassles. What could be
the reason ?

Edubuntu Problem :
A similar problem also occured while installing Edubuntu 6.06 on a
friend's Desktop .
