Buy a nice pure-sinewave inverter which runs on regular tubular batteries and
put it someplace where the sound won't interfere with your other activities
and continue using your existing UPSes. The UPSes will only need to hold up
for a few seconds.

You'll get much longer runtimes than with the a brand new UPS and it'll be
quieter/cooler too.
