I run a fairly heavy RT installation on Postgres without any downtime so far. There are some case studies at http://advocacy.postgresql.org/casestudies/. 2. Support - there are a number of companies that sell postgres support. Redhat comes to mind (they have a product called RHDB that is essentially postgres). Check postgres' website for others. 3.
