This is a general survey/opinion-call kind of thing. :) I have been trying to look for this for a while now. What will people recommend as a modelling method for web applications? The modelling method should: - Help clients understand the design of the website/app. - Document the process flow for the programmers - Should document details even of invisible backend scripts which dont have a place in the sitemap - Should be detailed enough to document the inputs to scripts - Can even model client side interactions (javascript) as well as server side. - Is somewhat usable with existing tools - like UML design tool So far, I have only seen a small paper describing an UML extension for web applications. What are the modelling techniques that you folks use before setting out to develop a web application for your clients? How do you draw the web site map before seeking approval from clients? What tools do you use? - Sandip -- Sandip Bhattacharya sandip (at) puroga.com Puroga Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
