AFAIK The DRDO is using linux in a few solutions they make for 
themselves. The army in general is on M$.

This is nothing to get exited about because the software is mainly 
written by Delhi university kids who are doing their training at
DRDO and I saw one of the military grade software which was being passed 
on as a "Easy to use Firewall" to be used I dont know where all, you can 
well imagine how a vb frontend with a mysql datastore and a set of 
PHP/TCL/Bash scripts be a secure firewall.

I presume that there is a general lack of professional programmers or 
security experts at that place.
