As all of you know that the latest Kernel 2.6.x has been released quite sometime back. Can you request LIFY to have a article in the magazine, where in they give a sort of step by step installation procedure of the new kernel on mc's running RHL and Mandrake. The reasons being, quite a lot of people i know use these two distros the most and there are quite a number of pitfalls, when upgrading from the original kernel to a self compiled new kernel. Maybe they can include all the dependency softwares on the CD, according to the changelog in the kernel tree. I myself have tried upgrading to kernel 2.6.3 on a RHL 9 mc, faced a number of problems, tried to solve, but..... Now to what the e-mail has asked us to do... > > 1)IDE QT > 2)Compilers/Interpretors Latest GCC > 3)Databases PostGreSQL MySQL complete.... with all the paraphelia > 4)Documentation kernel compilation and installation > 5)Libraries > 6)Testing Tools > 7)Misc kernel 2.6.x source and dependencies > > Only usefull and Floss/open source tools and Db can > be re Regards Aditya Laghate ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
