I wish to know how relevant/beneficial studying books like Knuth's Art
of Computer Programming is for a person working on languages like
Java/Python. The applications are _not_ graphics related or scientific,
but these are core Java networking servers, some J2ee work, a lot of
design related work.

I glanced through these books recently and they seem highly math
oriented to me (i dont have a math background).
Am i right in thinking that these concepts have already been taken care
of while designing say the Collections frameworks. Would they be only
useful for persons designing searching sorting algo's ?
Or would they help me write more efficient code in general.

Appreciate comments. BTW, Knuth isn't just one book. There are several
volumes, and some he's still working on (quite daunting for a faint
hearted person).
