[LIP] Problem executing scripts Bad Interpreter

Hi all,
	I am facing this strange problem, now the second time. I have a 
partition with the info
df:
	/dev/hda11             6048320   1821172   3919908  32% /fun
fdisk:
	/dev/hda11         1403      2167   6144831   83  Linux

this time and also previously, when I copied some executable here and 
tried to execute them I got the error "
"-bash: ./configure: /bin/bash: bad interpreter: Permission denied"

 with "/bin/bash" and also "/usr/bin/env python". I have checked the file 
permissions to be executable by all. The strange thing is that I am able 
to run the script by saying "python <scriptname>" and not by 
./scriptname(for the python script containing #!/usr/bin/env python at the top).

Last time I solved the error by just copying the executable to some other 
partition, but this time the file sizes are quite big and I cannot repeat 
the same method.

Could some one tell me the reason for this error and also how to recitify 
it. I guess something to do with partition mounts etc.
